2007 Georgia Baseball Preview
With the 2007 baseball season on the horizon, the Georgia Bulldogs are set to resume practice Wednesday at Foley Field.
With five College World Series appearances in seven all-time NCAA Regional trips, Georgia knows how to travel the road to Omaha. In fact under the direction of head coach David Perno, the Bulldogs are one of only five programs nationally to advance to the College World Series twice in the past three years. Georgia annually plays one of the nation's toughest schedules and not just because it's a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Perno said he wants his squad to be "battle-tested" come May when the postseason begins, and the Bulldogs have been just that. This year's slate features defending national champion Oregon State in a three-game home series to open the season. Also, Georgia will play the University of Southern California, Clemson and Georgia Tech a total of eight times, and coupled with the rugged 30-game SEC season, the Bulldogs will boast another schedule that will rank among the most difficult in the country.

This latest honor for Fields is significant because the publication bases their preseason All-America team from analysis made by major league scouting directors. The Baseball America preseason team consists of players who have been selected based on best potential as professionals as well as past performance.
